SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is a standard security technology for establishing an encrypted link between a server and a client. More specifically, SSL is a security protocol that allows sensitive information such as credit card numbers, social security numbers, and login credentials to be transmitted securely.

Users on our professional plan and up, can use custom SSL certificates for their sites. In here, you can upload your private keys and certificates (.key and .crt files) to use wild card, EV or any custom certificate you wish you use.

Your plan includes a GoDaddy SSL certificate. To generate it, we require your domain to be activated on our end first.

SSL Mode

It's safer to keep the access to your origin using the HTTPS protocol over SSL (port 443, encrypted), but if you do not want encryption or if you don't have HTTPS enabled on your hosting, change the port to HTTP (port 80, not encrypted). However, be aware that this may add some security issues for your site if the hosting environment is compromised, an attacker would be able to see the traffic in plain text.

This only affects HTTPS sites as HTTP already uses port 80 to connect.

Protocol Redirection

This option allows you to set your site as HTTP-only, HTTPS-only or host-controlled. If you enable HTTPS-only, we will redirect all your HTTP traffic to HTTPS by default. If you enable HTTP-only, your HTTPS traffic will be redirected back to HTTP. If you disable this option, we will not touch on your traffic and let your origin server decide what is best.

Professional, Business and up users have full control of their HTTPS configuration. You can use a custom HTTPS, an HTTPS from GoDaddy or from any other certificate authority. How do you want to treat HTTPS sites:
